Viking Billing Sevices scam practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We received a letter from Viking Collection Services, Inc. (Eden Prairie MN)demanding that we pay them over $1000 for damages to a car rented from Avis three weeks earlier. The letter included the word AVIS in large font at the bottom. I called Avis and they said they do business with a company called "Viking" but could not tell me anything about the Avis procedures or the claim itself. In fact the Avis rep said the car was in condition to be sold and the car return receipt had the words "sell' on it. The car was returned without damage and was in fact checked by an Avis rep when it was returned. Is Viking, using Avis data, involved in a scam operation? The Avis Rental Terms and Conditions says that Avis (not a collection agency) will send written notice of a claim. We received nothing from Avis.

Rude, arrogant, not serious about collecting

I dealt with them over a fender bender with Hertz. I thought Hertz had simply charged my credit card for the fix, but apparently they farmed it out to Viking for collection.

Viking did not behave in a serious manner regarding collection of the debt. They preferred to argue, insult, and act in a belligerent manner. There is a real lack of professionalism and they are certainly not trustworthy in their behavior.

My recommendation is to simply refuse to deal with them. Call whomever they are collecting for and pay them directly.

ACCORDING TO NEW FEDERAL GUIDELINES. A 3RD PARTY CANNOT BUY A DEBT FROM A COMPANY AND TURN A PROFIT. THEY PAY 5 CENTS OMN THE DOLLAR AND WANT THE WHOLE THING, THEN ARE VERY QUICK TO SETTLE CUZ THAT IS ALL PROFIT!!!!

Scam company

Company sent me a letter saying I owed Budget Rent a Car $451.79 for a fender bender. I did have a fender bender with this car, but that's why I filed a report with my insurance company right away. I only owe the company a $250 deductible. I will now sue this company in small claims court and file a report with the Federal Trade Commission. They *** with the wrong guy this time. I have also notified the FBI, which is supposed to regulate interstate fraud commerce like this. These are fly by night companies, don't be suckered.

worked for them for years they have already lost they're largest client chase due to lack of compliance regarding fair debt collection practices. They are not good people i would just cease them right away and take care of the balance without negotiating with them.

Viking Client Services

Viking Client Services called and left me a voicemail saying they were trying to collect on a debt. They Didn't say who I owed. So I called the number that they left on my answering machine.1(80*) 220-**** and they started trying to sell me stuff. Then at the end of me hitting # numerous times, they told me to call 1(80*) 712-****. I did that, and they started all over again with the sales stuff. I didn't hang around long enough to find out what the debt was.

Bad Client Services

I was shocked to get a call from this company with absolutely no contact from the original company (AVIS) about a claim they supposedly have against me - the person calling said they wanted it taken care of today. No way - I'm still waiting for him to email some proof of the claim and who the heck he is anyway.

I had to look them up. He started asking for personal address information which I refused to provide him while I was still waiting for proof from him.

I am rather upset by this whole ordeal and think AVIS better find a better route. I am likely pulling my company account from AVIS due to this incident.

Hello,

I am going through this right now from a rental in December 2015 and I NEVER HAD ANY DAMAGE. They are claiming I left the car OVERNIGHT at the airport and the front bumper was "hanging off." I parked the car at 5:15AM for my 6:30AM flight and all was fine with the car, not even dirt on the floor mats.

I am perplexed, confused, and sick over this.

I'm not sure who and why this person is calling me. She stated that her name was Patricia and she was calling about some claim filed.

And that I could also call her at 877-240-****.. When I called the number is only stated that this was"Viking"which I have no idea who and why these people are harassing me. If it is such a claim why haven't I receive any notification by mail about this. I've been scam twice and refuse to get caught out there again.

It never fails right around the holiday time i receive crazy calls from people. They can keep calling cause until proper notification by mail is received they're just wasting my time and their time. I'm so sick of them.

They even had a nerve to call my job harassing me like the people who scam me the first two times! If this continue I'll have my attorney call them with a harassment assault

Horriable

Never called me and left a message but decided to call my Ex-husband and talk to him. When he is not on any of my accounts. Isn't this illegal. I have yet to get a message from this company or even a letter. What and where do they let there rules from..I am going to look into these actions as they are discussing private things with people that have nothing to do with it. Can we say privacy and we are fighting all the time to keep our information private and you get these yo yo's that just blurt all your stuff out, which I have no idea what they are talking about.

Attempt To Collect

This incident occurred in Feb 2015. I received a letter about purported damage to a car rented from Avis at SLC airport. The claim was on letterhead claiming to be Avis Claims Dept. I checked and found that the address did not match any Avis location and I was fairly certain there was no damage. The address was in Eden Prarie MN. i dismissed the letter as a fraud. I received a phone call from Viking a few days ago claiming they were "collecting" this debt. I asked for proof of the alleged damage and they said they would email or fax it. They never sent anything. Yesterday I received a letter from Viking instructing me to forward the charges ($410) directly to them or they would "obtain a court judgement". The promised information about the"damage" was not included. I sent a letter denying the claim and again requesting information about the "damage" as well as proof from Avis that they were authorized to collect a debt on Avis' behalf. I also reported the incident to The Better Business Bureau. BTW Viking is located in Eden Prairie MN.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GET DEBT COLLECTORS TO STOP CALLING YOU, MAYBE JUST TELL THEM

This company is horrible

All you have to do is tell who is calling you, that you DISPUTE this debt. Tell them nothing more. And most time the account will be returned to the Original Creditor. They will ask you what are disputing but tell them nothing.

If you decide to pay the bill, call them at the end of the month, I would say 2nd to last business day of the month--The collector will give you a Better Settlement because the debt collector works on commission and will do what it takes to get the deal done-- Look for a settlement about 30 cents on the dollar. Don't forget if you save more than $600 on the Settlement you could pay taxes on the forgiven amount 1099c

If they really *** you off go to http://www.consumerfinance.gov/ and submit complaint

and/or contact the Orignial creditor and tell them how you are being treated by Viking.

And don't forget Your States Attorney General!

False Accounts

First, this company called my house a few months ago looking for my boyfriend who has never lived here, nor does he have an account with this company. Then today, this company called my mother's work number looking for me. I don't have an account with this company either. They had all my information and when I called to speak to a manager, he tried getting me to give out my SSN over the phone to "reverify" that he was speaking to the right person. When I hung up the phone, he then called my cell phone number trying to get the SSN again! This was supposed to be a manager! I'd like to know how they can get everyone's information and just start calling people trying to get money from them. This is absurd!

Impossible to Contact. FRUSTRATING!

I was told to call an (800) number if for any reason I couldn't make my scheduled automatic payment. I called 3 times weeks before my payment was due and was only able to leave a recorded voicemail. Viking Services never called me back and still charged my account. This resulted in $35 overdraft and $38 return fee. That's $73 in bank fines I had to pay because my representative at Viking (Melissa Hayden) doesn't check her voicemail. They called me this month on a saturday morning and didn't even bother to use my primary number. They used my secondary number which is my parent's house as I'm currently working abroad. This is very embarassing and frustrating. Atleast Melissa apologized, but that doesn't make up for the $78 in bank fees I had to pay due to her negligence.
